Cao Bang, a province of the northern highlands, shares borders with China to the north, the provinces of Bac Can and Lang Son and south of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang in the west. The Tay, Nung, Dao and H'mong are among the nine ethnic groups who inhabit the region.
The tropical climate of this mountainous region has four seasons. The temperature is highest in May and the coldest in January.
The tourist attractions include Lake Cao Bang Thang Then in Tra Linh, the waterfall in Trung Khanh Ban Gioc and Ba Be Lake. There are also several sites near where Uncle Ho lived before the revolution of August 1945 as Pac Po, Coc Bo Cave and streams and Lenin Khuoi Nam.
The Waterfall Ban Gioc
Waterfall in Cao Bang-Waterfall Ban Gioc is located in Trung Khanh district, 95 km from Cao Bang town and close to the Sino-Vietnamese border. The roar of falling water, means miles from Trung Khanh and a thick fog forms on the mountainside. The temperature is cool through the water vapor in the air.
A river lined with rare flowers at the foot of the fall. She is known for fish "Tram Huong." In the early 1920s, the French had started building cabins along the river. They went there to rest.
Ngao Cave Nguom
A 2 km from the fall Gioc Ban is a huge cave of 3km long. It is the museum of natural stalactites and stalagmites.
Pac Bo
Pac Bo is a small mountainous village in the commune of Trung Hoa, 50 km from Cao Bang town.
It was at Pac Bo cave lies Coc Bo who served as a refuge in Ho Chi Minh when he returned clandestinely in Vietnam after 30 years abroad. He created the League of Vietnam's independence, the nationalist coalition dominated by the Communists.
Among the attractions near the cave, are the mountain Cac-Mac (Karl Marx), The source Nin (Lenin), the cave Dan Bo, Co Rac range and source Khuoi Nam where President Ho Chi Minh has trained managers and managed several important meetings.
The President returned to the region in February 1961, 20 years after his first visit to Pac Bo.
Then Thang Lake
The lake is 20 km from Cao Bang town. With the season of rain, 36 lakes are formed. They are separated by rocks twisted like Ha Long Bay.
Phuc Sen Village
